I'm interested to hear the communities views on a couple of topics.
Harassment vios.
The locking of threads.
The first question I will ask is what exactly warrants a harassment vio. Is intent the key here or simply an objective standard based on whats said. Does the victims tolerance play a role? Let me know your thoughts. I recently was threatened with harassment vios for restating something I read on the forums and asking an opinion on it.
Secondly, do mods have unlimited discretion on closing/deleting threads? Is this morally right? Please share your views. If a thread is active and not directly breaking any rules, should it be closed? I think not.
And yet the only vio I got for was for alleged indirect implication on a user named prevail when the person offended doesn't even claim prevail. File a report if you think im harassing anyone. Don't blabber.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.
