There are a few things in comp that I think could be done better and I think we should try to continue making improvements. I have several ideas but I'm not gunna dump a huge blog on you guys rn. I'm just gunna address 1 issue for now. Just read this then vote on the poll, or dont, or whatever.
Skewed Score Payouts- The point of varying score payouts is to avoid giving out too many points to 1 faction if they are favored in that setup, but that's currently the opposite of what's happening in some cases. This can be seen in setups like b2ns and a&d, but there is usually at least 1 of these setups each round. This seems to be caused by mafia winning a lot more often in redheart games, causing townsided setups to give out 68+ points for a town win. This is an issue because this means rounds can be determined by what alignment you flip and what setup you play, or at least forces you into playing 1 setup.
Proposed Solution: Track winrates in redheart and comp games separately. Have score payout be based on comp winrate in comp lobbies. If a setup has no comp play, it would default to redheart payouts until it has like 30 comp plays. I don't see any downside to this solution. I'm willing to help with making the change!
Kinda unrelated but another change I wanted to make was to put town / mafia winrates for the current round on the round page. http://imgur.com/ZSuzTnz Just stick the winrates for that round under how many times it's been played. This would be helpful for if there is a newer setup being tried in comp, to give people an idea of how it's balanced.
