why are there so many arrogant clears in comp who think that they get to decide every lynch solely because they are clear?
i have played too many games where the entire town is wagoning obvious mafia (often this wagon includes a different clear) and an inbred clear demands a cross because they played too much fancy pants and are used to being able to do whatever they want as cop.
when town berates these clears for being autistic and bad they are invariably hammered for 'not giving cross' because none of these types of clear are actually capable of forming reads and treat every game as a test to see how well you can follow the strat.
Ok kid come back when you can play blue properly and drive a lynch on scum instead of relying on one player whos not necessarily even good to make decisions for you. The fact that u think wagons are based on nothing says it all, maybe ur brand of strat stickling boring as play would b better suited to rubiks cubes where u don't have to put effort into things like understanding people
People play setups optimally, and in some setups it is optimal for a role to out himself and take the wheel. This means he'll have the final say in the lynch, and other players will try to communicate and help him. This sounds pretty simple.
He'll decide the lynch for town, the decision maker. And other players are supposed to help him make a decision. You have 10 minutes each day to get to a settlement. The clear has to be helpful and talk with the other players, explaining his opinion, asking different questions, and making sure the player's viewpoint is clear to him.
What the rest have to do, is just talk, communicate, and not be worthless. You're giving the clear your personal insights and that's where your job's at. Still, pretty simple.
When you say people are arrogant for playing optimally, and not taking risks, then you are unfortunately wrong. Let's say a random amount of people are voting for someone, but the clear doesn't vote. No, it's not because he thinks highly of himself, it's because he doesn't know who to trust. Who knows? Maybe out of that random amount of people, both mafias are voting, no matter the number of villagers voting with them.
The word wagoning itself means a group lynch based on nothing. If you think voting someone in the first 2 minutes of the game and being a stuck up by never changing your vote is a good plan, then you're embarrassingly wrong. If a clear demands a cross even after a portion of the town voted someone mutual, it's just cause you've done a horrible job at giving your point of view to the clear and letting him make what he will out of it. Now don't go off blaming other people for your mistakes.
If a clear himself is being a stuck up, try your best explaining the situation to him. Ask him who he wants to lynch, if you agree, then tell you what, good for you. If you disagree, tell him why you disagree. Unless, of course, you CAN'T tell him why you disagree with his supposed lynch because you spent the day focusing on one person.
From what you've said. My POV is you should play more ranked games before emerging into competitive. It may be too much for you.
