Update: My mom caught wind of what's going on and she's releasing sweet hell on my university for even suggesting that we all have to pay from someone's crimes

not quite to the same magnitude but i had a similar experience in my freshman year. i lived on the 4th floor of a dorm i never spent any time in. like, literally i had a girlfriend in a dorm hall across campus and i ended up just sleeping in her room p much every night for the entire first term (her poor freaking roommate was my best pal lol)
anyway part way through the year i get some notification that there's a MANDATORY meeting for my floor. normally i didn't bother going to the MANDATORY meeting but my roommate who was actually a p cool guy (the rest of my floor was total meatheads and they kinda were too but they were p chill) tells me that like, i actually might get screwed. so i end up going. turns out some dumb lughead on our floor stole a goddamn mirror from the bathroom. like, took it clean off in some drunken fury. and we were all gonna pay for it wasn't found. they were saying it was like $200 for the mirror even tho it was obviously like a $20 tops mirror but whatever. still didn't matter much bc there was like 30 or something of us on the floor tho. but the kicker tho was that each of us was going to have to pay an individual "vandalization" fee and get a red mark on our records, so to speak. seriously made me mad.
we all knew exactly who it was and apparently eventually someone ratted him out tho so happy ending woo. the mirror was legit in his room just leaning against the bed LOL.
Feel like I want to punch these freaking a-hole girls in the face. They stole some goddamn expensive stuff from one of the frat houses (everyone knows it was them but they won't admit it) and, if they don't say that did it and return the stuff, we could ALL have to pay for it just because we live in the house accused of stealing it.
If I have to pay any freaking amount of money because these girls are literal mounds of sh** then they, nor the University, will hear the end of it.
