Currently, a bunch of accounts are compromised due to hidden linking. I'm making this topic to make a reference on who all got compromised. If you're viewing this topic and your account was compromised, then the best thing I'd recommend is to just make a new account for now.

From the announcements: Lucid has implemented a new security measure that will log anyone out if they try to access your account from an IP you did not sign in on.


I don't think this is very helpful it's just logging me out from various accounts on my home IP at seemingly random intervals. Just have lucid make sending pms take 100 points if it's not to a moderator or something similar, then send automated messages to players like Arcbell is doing, snipe accounts with mod names + i's, have mods ban any accounts that send the messages out.

There's no actual money in stealing epicmafia accounts, so the script kiddies will get bored of it eventually if you make it difficult / not very rewarding for them. Just do those things I suggested and stop giving them attention.

people pay money for the site, they have a right to ask that it'd be "stupid" proof. Unfortunately not everyone is well versed on internet rules, they're ok with just knowing how to post gifs on tumblr

I'm representing my pal Pain. His girlfriend is a victim of this harsh cyber beast, and I wish to see justice!

It would have been pretty much impossible for her to have done all of that stuff, she has a class from 3:30 until 4:45. Please add her name to the list. She put a good few of years into EM. She can't log back in after she logged out and she can't make a new account, apparently.

why the do people not just make a random password then notepad save it. it stops people guessing or hacking at least. then just delete messages that look like phising

I highly recommend that everyone learns about the basics of the Internet, otherwise you may end up like one of these users whose ignorance led them to be compromised. Session cookies are fundamental to almost every site and you may find yourself in a much worse situation than what has occurred here on EM.
