I just have to share the only nightmare to actually scare the crap out of me in the past 5 years because it doesn't make sense on why it was so horrifying.
This was during my application cycle and I was looking for this previous professor I had to write me a letter (this was going on irl) but in the dream I located her and she was on this like oil rig in the ocean so I took a boat there with a few friends. When we get there, they say she is in the break room so me and my friends go to the break room. When we get inside, it's really dark except for this like shadowy figure in the corner. As the shadow figure crawls towards us we see that it's a really huge rat, like the size of a dog. Instantly our first reaction is to grab a chair and hit it, and it reacts by biting one of my friends and starts screaming out "BISHU! BISHU!" except like it's as loud as a train, truly horrifyingly loud. Somehow one of us has a katana and cuts its head off. From outside of the now exposed neck crawls a rat that grows to the size of the previous rat, and now the previous rat grows its head back. So now there are two rats... with a face resembling the friend that cut off their head... screaming out Bishu! Bishu! I think someone cut another one and then it grew their head but boy was that a nightmare that like affected me for a solid few hours after waking up.
I'm not even scared of rats or loud noises so I have 0 idea what influenced it
I had a dream everyone around me turned into walking sharks so then I ran into my house and when I went upstairs there was this bright pink staticy thing in the corner of my room walking towards me and right when I touched it I immediately woke up with pins and needles on the hand I had touched it with
I've had a lot of crazy dreams. One of my favorites is where I dreamed I took some shrooms and then it effectively turned into a lucid dream because I was like "hey, I'm on shrooms, that means I can fly!" And then I proceeded to just fly around in like a crazy colorful dream world through rainbow tubes and other idk it was awesome. There was also some huge fluffly pillows I was bouncing on. Very fun dream.
i had a dream that i was swimming in the south pole. i saw a lot of humpback whales and dolphins jumping out of water. the sky and the ocean was bright royal blue and it was breathtaking. when i blinked my eyes, all of sudden, i was in the building, sitting next to the window with beach view. some girl from my uni was in front of me. she told me that she felt really anxious when she almost went below 5 feet under water bc it can kill you and i was amazed then idk i woke up. my dream never felt so good

I had a dream where our cities population was over sized, and to make up for it they would push kids into a very large hole in the middle of nowhere. The dream started with me on a bus and i was observing the scenery outside the window. I was confused why I was there so I asked the kids next to me. They told me the information above and I assumed that I was like ten-years old. We were riding on this really old bus, but the inside was like a prison bus. I was mad that no one was fighting the bus driver or anyone. We were going to die anyways, so why not put up a fight? For a strange reason I couldn't move or express my feelings. We then walked in a single file line walking up the stairs of a rusty tower thing.(Kinda like when you go on tube rides). At the top there was a diving board where you jumped off into the hole. There was a bunch of people surrounding the hole and I saw my family. I was pissed that they weren't fighting to save me and I was pissed that no one around me would do anything. Why we were freely accepting to die. When my turn came up I looked in the big hole and when i was about to be forced to jump I woke up.

My dream last night was (and I specifically came to this thread because it's hilarious):
I'm playing mafia irl with people from EM. But it's mafia mixed with hide and seek and there's two people who are bomb. I guess if you "find" one of the bombs, you die, and the cop's objective is to "find" the mafia without finding the bombs, while the mafia has to find and kill town without finding the bomb as well. Anyway, the setting is my family's vacation house.
I'm a bomb, and I've successfully been found by one mafia. There's only one mafia left, and Hedger is the cop. He finds me and dies, and the game ends. And the other bomb was Soda.
For some reason, Soda sings a duet with me. I remember the song and everything. What a weird dream, Jesus christ.
i had a dream that i was pulling worms out of my skin. i could see/feel them under my skin, so i'd scratch until the skin was broken and i could pull them out. it was literally dozens of them and it still makes me feel sick. one of them was so big that in my dream there was an actual hole through my leg that i could see through. i felt weird as hell for the rest of the week.

Whenever I begin lucid dreaming, a small panic/feeling of anxiety creeps up and I wake up about 5 seconds into it
