i kinda want a laptop which would allow me to half screen so i might move up to a 17" one if anyone has any suggestions?
I bought one of these a few months ago and I would really recommend it for your budget. The product is sold out right now for good reason, and should be back soon. It runs games like Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Saints Row IV etc etc with little to no difficulty. It's very lightweight and easy to use and is basically the best "I'm on a budget" laptop I've seen.
This a cheap computer build that will run VERY well. I can run 60 fps on ultra on battlefield 3 o3o. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Q2wvGX (The case, keyboard, mouse, moniter not included.)

depends on what games u play too. u might wanna look into something that has a decent graphics card, i.e. not Intel HD like mine.

I've had a lower-end Thinkpad since 2010 and never once had a problem with it. It's super easy to upgrade too, so you can buy the cheapest build option and just stick your own RAM/hard drive in like I did and end up with quite the little beasty.
