let's argue about cheffing

so few people don't self chef that when someone does chef different people, someone is bound to "know" who chef is just because it's such uncommon practice

which is weird because it's way better

let's take a typical 1 kill d1 for example: there are 3 mafia, 1-2 thirds, 6-7 town

your chances of self cheffing mafia are ~27%

your chances of diff cheffing mafia are ~54%

your chances of cheffing 2 mafia are ~13%, which increases as people die but is also good once 1 mafia is dead

chances of mafia+3rd are slightly less than 2 mafia and 3rd isn't always going to joint/can joint

when you self chef, you have no chance of cheffing 2 mafia (rare with 3 mafia, good with 2 mafia), no chance of cheffing mafia+3rd (generically good, still slim), half the chance of cheffing mafia (2x worse)

additionally, when cheffing town+mafia, at best a clear can be created, effectively accomplishing what a self-chef would do in 2 nights in just 1, and at worst you get something of a 2-name carol

self cheffing 'makes' you a det + drunk

but cheffing 2 other people, 'makes' them a det + drunk.

If you pick 2 towns; they can clear each other, if only in a will.

If you pick 1 town and 1 mafia; they normal both out each other as the mafia. One dies today and other the next day.

If you pick 2 mafia roles; they can make a fake claim, next day the normally out each other. But then they have to stick to that role and hope no one ccs. Plus like said you could block the only 2 killing mafia.

Always chef other people!

plus you're not finding 2 alliances if you already know one of them, it's as inefficient as self cheffing

so slow that by the time you find mafia the game is already over and your clears are already dead

if you chef 2 mafia with 2 mafia left in the game you effectively win the game

chances of cheffing 2 mafia early in the game with 3 mafia are slimmer than wasting your chef on someone who mafia kills by selfchef anyway

If you chef 2 mafia they make up fake claims for themselves and carry on like nothing happened. If you chef 1 mafia 1 third you just set them up for a joint. If you chef 1 mafia 1 town they both claim they were cheffed with mafia and it goes badly. Self cheffing is the way to go.

self cheffing gives you something to do overnight, and it increases your chances of vegging, which is obviously a perk in sandbox

also it's less likely for someone to cc your chef claim if you chef other people than if you chef yourself with mafia
