It's okay, we have neato reverse osmosis units that can make drinkable water out of seawater now :D Run it off a solar panel. Consider a more automated version of the traditional sailboat, unless you want to be adjusting things and not sleeping continuously. I believe that the maritime rules call for you to look about every ~ 15 minutes or so to make sure you don't crash into anything.... IE no setting the autopilot/heading and sleeping for 8 hours.

Fresh water supplies might be an issue.

I will literally build an idol in your likeness and place it in a temple to stand for ten thousand years.

no no, it's okay: you can teach yourself to sail. Try this: http://www.pdracer.com/ ....... and if you sail the carribean in one of these fine ships, I will personally worship you forever.

You'd have to do a sailing course before hand, surely?

I mean a sailboat with a small crew. Just you and some of your mates doing your own thing across the ocean. Bronto mentioned the idea to me a few months ago and I've looked into it quite extensively since then. I'm really considering saving up some cash for a boat and popping off to the Caribbean.
