I can't believe I wasted so much time watching the entire series of Deathnote. You want something different and interesting, try "Kemonozume" ..... I don't think there's been an english language release, but you can find a fan-subbed version online.

The final chapter seemed strange (wasn't it different between the manga and anime if I remember correctly?)
