2. It gets you godfather 50% of the time. It's a brilliant tactic.
Can someone ban three people in the top 5 and give me a trophy?

With policy like that it's no wonder people don't enjoy mafia
It's only for Basic Logic. With no protective roles, you want Cops to survive to 5 way. So on D1, you lynch someone who claims blue, or someone who's acting blu-ish. Do that in the first 2 minutes, and you've got a dead blue/miller/mafia, and no cop reads for mafia.
N2, they kill someone, and if you're lucky, it's another blue. Two cops alive, one outs with reports, and you can scumhunt in 4 people. Much easier.
Claiming blue D1 reduces the number of people who could be Cops, so it's suboptimal to do. Better to lynch that person than have them the town by giving away PRs.
OK thanks for posting a block of caremad text that I'm not going to read on account of you lynching all non-cop claims as opposed to the mafia

I think it's still more optimal to scumhunt and play a solid D1 than it is to RL someone. I think of it this way; RLs are usually led by a cop on someone who isn't a cop, so mafia gets an easy cop-read. You don't want to be a blue who leads on a cop, because that is also really bad. There's a lot of little things that I do on D1 as town that I think contribute to my D1 godfather-lynch rate a lot, and protect the cops.
