Don't meet people online, unless you are in a cool foreign country(Anywhere in Eastern Europe and Asia is prime, or even central and south america) using a paid dating website ([insertcountry]cupid) to pipeline some dates with a few cute girls. Anyway I am feeling pretty sure this is some trolling anyway. A good discussion none the less. Plus if you are not athletic you will probably never will be, once in late teens your brain would of basically assigned you as uncoordinated.

Making friends online isnt bad to sometimes they live closeby you and you can meet up
if you have no friends maybe don't play an online game. go learn how to be good at sports and get a life. good at sports = lots of friends. this advice was free.
Depends what you mean by friends, when I was growing up in Australia I had a lot of close friends but wasn't very socially active, only socializing within my group. Now I am living abroad I have few close friends, but I am much more socially active, going out to bars and such by myself to party with people I hardly know.
My guess is you need to conquer your social anxiety and approach new people, keeping them around is by becoming funny, interesting and jovial. I save my nerdom for the internet, mainly because I don't want to befriend anyone based on those interest in real life. Friends become less important as you get older, what is more important is the social skills you build. There is probably a bunch of self help books you can get, but you need to go where people are such as bars, malls, markets, sporting events or whatever

I have 1 fren he is the guy at the gas station he always says hi 2 me
You already made a couple of friends here Republic. But if you meant friends in real life, you might have to force yourself to become a little social. Be yourself and i'm sure you'll get the chance to meet people who will like you. In the "online universe" it's easier, go play a mmorpg, join a guild and you're set for a couple of nice moments with unkown people from different parts of the world. At least that's what i did last summer; i played Neverwinter Nights (yeah, i know, it's not the best mmorpg there is out there, but still, i met a lot of wonderful people and had a lot of fun)
