I get that you're struggling, but joining CM and refusing to claim cop is not the solution.

Set ups that require scum hunting or significantly long day starts simply do not fill. I've hosted classic variant three consecutive times and reached a max of five players before it hits second page. People who used to play fp just aren't interested in these set ups. The only other option is going into comp, which for mediocre and under players is just not an option if you want to keep a shred of self respect after the during/post game insults comp players are more than happy to dish out to any non regular. I wasn't joking when I said it's too late, you're either in the "good player" list or you will get flamed out of this site trying to get in.

this post was actually not that bad, and had a lot of truths in it . whichi s why the mentor system needs to be revamped, it's not like players who joined the site 2 years ago are smarter than the players joining now, there's just a lack of interest in actually getting better at the game in the newer players for whatever reason now

You seem to be under the misconception that bad players get flamed in comp when a majority of people that play comp are FP players like yourself. Don't act new, don't ask questions at every step, and use your role icons to set roles and alignments for people and you'll be able to transition smoothly. It's better to form a wrong conclusion and create dialog then to afk and wait for the game to resolve itself.

Not bad players that are flamed, just people who made a mistake ever. Every so often I venture into comp again feeling I might be able to stick, but it's so ridiculously toxic (both with AtE in game and post game flame/report wars) that it's just unsustainable for me. And idk what fancy pants or classic games you were in but people do try, just because the average game time might be shorter, and the pr's performance is significantly more important than blues doesn't mean people don't try at all.

Transitioning out of classic/FP is actually not that hard; I think one decent way to do is to befriend a comp player who is willing to play comp setups unranked with you and teach you the ropes.

Of course, going out of your way to do that and finding comp players who will spend that time with you can be hard, but such is life.

i condone this thread, minus the insults

Also in the same fashion you don't use meta or keep track of the people you pointfarm with, comp players don't either so any insults you get in game are normally based purely on your actions in that game. You can throw all that bs out and stop making excuses.

You should play the double point setups every round until you are good enough to compete instead of festering in coin-flip setups as you get worse and worse. Not you particularly, I remember enjoying games with you. Those kinds of players in general, however...
