The point here is that the with the amount of sheet that goes on and with incompetence about to reach an all time high(with fancy pants blacklisted), we need a way to stop butthurt players from reporting
Ok, that's fair. Harassment can be given to extreme cases (like snailsmale) but the criteria for harassment is stupid in that all a user has to do is say 'hey, you're harassing me, if you don't stop, i'm reporting you'
edit: only saw your post now
By that logic, anyone can claim they are being 'harassed' for anything, which is stupid. Learn to cope with adversity instead of crying into a pile and waiting for someone else to save you from your own problems.
I'm not trying to say cyberbullying isn't an issue, and am aware of the terrible things people can do online given words. Enforcing the harassment vio however empowers people who are easily butthurt, have low adversity quotient, and really, for a lack of a better term, are spineless. It gives said people a sense of entitlement and in turn makes them worse people irl.
You don't get respect by virtue of being, you earn it.
If you are offended over words another person types over the internet, then you really should go outside. People can't take even a small hit to their egos and cry to the mods. The problem is that bad play isn't discouraged, notes never really do anything(example:MikeyRu). Instead, the people that call said players out on bad play get counter reported for harassment just because the player happens to be homosexual and calling a homosexual bad would be homophobia. When people stop taking an online java mafia game seriously and learn to laugh at their incompetence, even try to improve instead of being butthurt and trying to defend their cringeworthy play, mafia games will be fun.
Yes, doesn't matter if it goes to a stallwar. Illu should actually never shoot first and, optimally, should wait and play chicken.
edit: The benefit of shooting first is hitting a PR if maf, or hitting illu and giving town 2 MLs if town.

u know the funniest thing about that game, itg. it's the fact that there's no reason for her to wait for the illusonist to shoot, if she had shot the illusonist that would have given town two ml's. What if the illusonist doesn't shoot until 5 seconds before kicks, are you suppose to stall the day and wait for that shot ?
Rather than continuing to hate on me (go ahead by the way, nothing's stopping anyone), at least explain why harassment should stay as a vio. HC already covers what should not be tolerated, but a vio for people's hurt feelings is stupid.
That is beside the point. I've never broached into harassment territory when getting mad at users.
Again, people focus on me despite the issue I'm raising being perfectly valid. I've never even gotten a harassment vio.
Did anyone read the article? HC should stay. Harassment, by and large, should be removed except for special cases (ie. snailsmale stalking little girls on epicmafia.com).
Getting vios for calling people racial/homophobic slurs is alright but people should not get vios for being mean/spiteful in game.

The amount of times people claim 'harassment' for being called dumb (which they are) is ridiculous.
i agree but there's a fine line between endless insults and being called dumb. I think harassment should stay but only be given if insults are consistent.
The irony is you realise people are easily hurt and decide to carry on anyway like a massive dong head
If you read the post, the catch was that these easily hurt people also make the community bad because they themselves are d*cks. If you are able to dish it out, learn to be able to take it as well.
Harassment should be removed. HC should definitely stay as slurs should not be tolerated but the policing of people's internet feelings is pointless and I think the article explains how as a society, many today place too much value on 'hurt feelings' and being PC.
