How does your scale equate "not that hot" to 8? 8 = 80% = A-. That's pretty high.

90-100 = A+, 85-89 = A, 80-84 = A-, 75-79 = B+, 70-74 = B, 65-69 = B-, 60-64 = C+, 55-59 = C, 50-54 = C-.

Anything below that is a fail, with 45-49 = D+, 40-44 = D, 0-39 = D-.
