I'm interested in what people think about metagaming. Do you think it improves the game or not? Do you use it? Just anything to do with metagaming really, I just want to hear players' opinions on it.
Also this, behavior doesn't occur in a vacuum and is also a reflection of character. Character isn't something that changes on a game to game basis. Saying that a social game is ruined by playing it in a player versus player fashion is moronic because there is no game without the player.
But hey, I should stop punishing people for claiming mafia/town as mafia on a repeated basis because learning from game to game and trying to improve at this site is a form of abuse.
You do realize that the first hundreds or so round of this site occured in an almost purely meta-based meta, right? It was only after the seperation of lobbies that our core base stopped using for a clear/read based meta.
This site went from meta based to clear based due to the fact that the average player isn't good enough to remember game to game, nor do they understand the game well enough to make use of it.
However do share how a playing against people that know you and thus having to play against yourself in order to win isn't competition, especially when a majority of the people at the top of the rounds lately either afk and chat idle while victories are handed to them, or have people playing to their win condition.

no one wants to use anon decks because it would be stupid, idiot.
You can't have a game without metagaming. Unless someone is a total amnesiac in every single game they enter, they are always acting upon previous experiences.
How do you think 'standard plays' come into existence if not for that?

They mean anon-only, meaning there wouldn't be non-anon.
It's dumb and leads to not a true competition. Anon games would be true competitive games but no one wants to do that cause "i wanna see muh friends, hurr".
As town, use it to find scum. As scum, use it to look town. It's simple. The original mafia experiment became more and more town-sided the more the study group played with each other.
