classic shell was killing my machine, so i finally uninstalled it and now i have the sweet sweet bliss of a responsive computer again.

but windows 8 start menu still sucks. so what should i do. are there alternatives?

that's it i'm tired of windows skipping numbers, i'm downgrading back to good ol' windows 95 where i can keep track of everything

Windows 10 is free as a developer preview currently, and then the upgrade'll be free once it's released for both Windows 7 and Windows 8 users who have a genuine copy of it.

There's no need to pirate an operating system, ever.
