How to play each role, by sandbox

Hello, Sandboxerinos.

If we all pitch in and offer advice as a community, I'm sure we can create a comprehensive guide on how to play each role there is.

If someone has already explained a role here, whether in detail or just with a hint, feel free to offer your own explanation too. The more advice the better.

Here are a few hints to get us started:

Deputy/Sniper: Look at all the people in the town and decide who you don't like, based on their avi, manner of typing, name, or past experiences with this person. Then shoot that person. Whether you are sniper or deputy doesn't matter, this is very helpful to do. Nitro's Pro Hint: Also consider playing a game of 'next person to speak gets shot'.

Cop (any): On day one, announce your report immediately. Based on this, even without your sanity, the town can decide who to lynch. If you didn't get a report, whether because you are lazy or were blocked, still announce that you are a cop and didn't get a report. This is vital information.

Fool: Let everyone know that you are fool. If you are polite about this, the town will understand and lynch you. If you try to subtly make yourself look like mafia, town will realize you are being a sneaky fool and will not lynch you.

Mafia in general: Don't talk during the day, except with 'lol' or 'yeah'. If there is a non meeting member, do not attempt to discover who he is and do not contact him. When the tree, celebrity or designated clear asks for claims, you have several, ironclad options to secure your safety:

1) Say you'll be brb, and watch patiently until you can hammer. The clear will not suspect you.

2) Claim bulletproof, bleeder, ghoul or lightkeeper. There is no way of proving you are these roles, so this is a pro strategy that will make you win every single time.

3) Give him the runaround, talking about how claiming is for losers or how you're 'nothing to worry about'. The clear will have no reason not to believe this, and in fact, this may even save your partners from having to claim.

Spy/Agent/Telepath/Whisperer: Send someone an entire erotic fanfiction, line by line.

Jailer: Jail someone, claim gator who wasn't contacted and watch them try to claim they are fellow maf or a 3rd. Kill them for their scum claim, then chuckle as graveyard reveals they were town all along.

Alternatively, jail at random and always kill. Remember, innocent people don't go to jail.

I have experienced everything in this thread. Hot damn.

As drunk or nurse, always pick celeb. Sure, you don't see a yak/cult in graveyard, but if they're out there they will definitely pick the celeb. And then you'll have them. ;)

Caroler - If someone doesn't out your carol on day 1, be sure to announce it loudly in all caps.

Trapper: get host so doctor/surgeon/nurse will come to them. Get giggles.

Fake claim as much as possible.

Town:

After Agent says there's a Guiser don't forget that putting your name in your will is cheating, so make sure you don't do that because you'll get banned from SandBox!

Mafia:

If there are three (or more) meeting Maf then you should all vote on the same person. If there is a MM, then you should let the MM be one to pass on voting. Would want your Mastermind to be the one getting hurt by Trapper or Granny!

If you're a mafia and not in the middle of the carol, be sure to kill the other person on the left/right.

Pro Tip: How to play warewolf? Request mass claim day 1, they will give you their roles immediately!

Baker: Claim virgin so you can let the bread gods decide our fate.

Santa: Give guns n1 without any reports whatsoever because guns are fun, sandbox means nothing, and no matter what happens you wind up with a clear somehow.

Vent: If you don't vent as someone who gets shot during the day, or at the very least do your best to troll vicariously, you're doing it wrong.

Detective: Just suicide, you're not important.

Crier: Don't be of any help whatsoever, just do trivia.

Any saving role: Don't draw attention to yourself so you look very towny and maf kills you so you save more important roles by not letting them die.

Lyncher: Try to get your target lynched D1 in the most blatantly obvious manner because that's how game theory works.

Non-Meeting Maf roles: Since you won't get contacted ever, just assume anyone who contacts you is town trying to trick you and use your power on them.

WW: Eat N1 because it's proplay. Just leave the roles in the will to render the entire point of closed roles useless.

Cthulhu: Make sure everyone goes crazy before committing suicide.

Lover: Select the person you like least, the person who YOLO shot you last game (if you're a little salty) or that friend of yours you like to troll every so often. Bonus points if they roll celeb. Then, instantly say "virgin here" start of D1. Extra bonus points for :doge:-ing, or :ditto:-ing. Giggle at your screen as you watch your lover target turn on their cap locks to try to stop you (they will be unsuccessful). When you're both in the graveyard N2, throw in a "kek".
