It isnt an underlying issue that prevents white people from access to necessities like education, jobs, housing, etc.
The only thing that actually affects white people is that they either turn up the white guilt and overcompensate or they vehemently deny it when they're called racist.

Iceaac, I rephrased it as 'why should I' since this thread heavily implies that whites SHOULD apologize. For something that they have had no hand in doing.
Here's my response to your 3 points.
1. Where have I said this? I'm saying it's stupid to say you have to apologize, ie TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for something entirely unrelated to you. I'm sorry THAT it happened, and it's a stain on humanity. But am I sorry FOR slavery? Do I take personal responsibility? No. 2. Racism exists. Where have I said it hasn't? There are still whites who hate black people and black people who hate white people. 3. I don't ignore it. But racism is not, won't be, and has never been a white issue. It's a human issue, a personal issue, and a cultural issue. But not a race issue, as this thread implies.
Again, this largely ignores my question. "Are we guilty for things which not only did we have no hand in doing, but which occurred decades before any of us were born?"

No one is asking you to apologise. Your initial post implies
1. Human beings are not allowed to be empathetic with other human beings 2. Racism does not exist because you do not experience it 3. You discount the 500+ years of discrimination that HAS HAPPENED. It doesnt matter if you say any other race could have oppressed others, fact is it has occured
