I'm just as good as anyone in this country. My family worked hard to get where we are. We aren't lazy, we don't accept handouts, and we all have gone to schools. As much as I love being black, sometimes I feel as if it is a curse. I never really thought too much about race until I went to college. I grew up in a white suburb and 98 percent of of my friends are white. They say I "talk white" and "act white". No I really just act like myself. I am black, I know that I am not white.

Yeah, but, we elected Barack Obama. Racism in America died on November 4th, 2008. Sorry......
Can't tell if that's sarcasm or not (it probably is)..but racism is alive and well my friend. Do you know what it's like to be followed in Bloomingdale's because they are afraid you're going to steal something?
I worked at Pacsun for like a year and my boss would tell us to follow the black customers around and make sure they didn't take anything. How messed up is that to tell your black employee to follow around the black people and make sure they don't steal.

I'm pretty sure that I'm oppressed in this country. You might not understand, but I am. But more so Devante and rerisen. Black men in America are so oppressed, they are a marked target at birth. It's sad how white people can honestly try to argue that racism is dead and black people have it easy. No we really don't. It's like we have to try to prove ourselves that we are just as good as whites even though it shouldn't be like that.
