A moderator who loses interest in moderation, upon reflection of their position, decides to step down, but later regains their taste for mod work and is reappointed. This happens several times as their whims fluctuate.
A moderator who loses interest in moderation, upon reflection of their position, decides to hold their position and do enough work throughout their time in power to avoid losing the position, which arguably gives them no room to reinvoke any desire to work properly again.

Sirius dude don't let Slow talk to you like that, fight back man
i crave attention so yeah if i were to ever apply to be a mod that would probably be the reason.
sounds like more effort than it's worth though and I'm fairly sure I'd be a poor mod.

no, but it's something that i'd kinda relate with social dysfunction lol. it's like petri with all his cheating to be relevant. hey maybe autism can be harnessed for good!

Modding is like the feeling of trophying for people who can't win one
let's go again. does anyone else think that a lot of mods only use moderation as a means of becoming relevant in the community? i wouldn't even say it's power personally
well for me it's less about my own relevancy and more about giving back to a site/community that i enjoyed "growing up" in, in the form of menial service.

i became a mod because all the eswag cool points it afforded me.

Not that directly. It just feels good to be relevant, but it probably never crosses their mind consciously. Different conscious reasons will vary person to person definitely.
Looking back, the first time I became a mod I probably just wanted to "be a mod" and didnt think about it that much, but I wouldnt have said that then. I think that, given time to reflex, most people would admit the same. After a while you realize that being a mod means basically zilch though, so other reasons become more common for those who stay/reapply. Might be habit commitment or whatever. Or maybe they just want to stay feeling relevant. Who knows really

the ex-mods r ganging up on me lol. ok i take back the autism bit, it doesn't really do justice to my thoughts anyway
I read games from reports (sometimes) mutliple times and ended up with a .1% ot rate at least say something real like "at least I didn't try to find a reason to ban pranay out of a belief he cheated"
