Hello EM minions. Wolfblitzer and significant other are taking a trip to Europe this summer. More specifically we are going to Munich, Zurich, Burgundy, Paris, Bruges, and Brussels. Any tips on best places to stay....good non tourist trap restaurants...and cool places to make sure we see?

Looked up B&B's and they look like the way to go. cheaper than hotels and you can really immerse yourself in the culture and meet new people from around the world it seems. :)

If you have any questions, message me. I can ask my family (who have lived in Europe for 5 years) and we can answer any questions you may have.

Sorry for all of my posts I just live here so I have a lot of passion for Europe. :333

My main two pieces of advice to you would be!!!

A.) If you want to save money on hotels, look at staying at Bed & Breakfasts' and local Taverns/Pubs. They're not as modern/convenient as a room at Best Western, but they're nice, charming and quaint.

B.) To not get caught up in tourist traps is easy. When you're out walking in the city, just wander off the main streets and shopping areas and stroll into more quiet and less busy districts. Explore a little. Europe has all sorts of pubs and restaurants everywhere where you can get local traditional food. If you're staying in Munich, I again recommend Beer Gardens.

C.) Using a train is wise because not only does it save you the money on gas and renting a car, it saves you from the pain of driving in crowded and cramped European streets as drivers get mad at you for your bad driving. And if you can't access it by train, there are many services available that offer day trips where you go on a bus and tour a place.

***SITES TO SEE***

Idk if you know this, but the city of Munich is located in a German Province called Bavaria. Bavaria is traditional catholic germany. If you're there, I highly recommend that you at least once go to a Beer Garden. ALSO IMPORTANT if you can, YOU HAVE TO GO SEE the Neuschwanstein Castle. It's one of the Worlds most famous castles, and Germany's absolute most famous, and is the castle the Disney Castle is based off of. It is located near a valley called Garmisch that is a region in the alps and you will pretty much get a picturesque scene of traditional German highlands. If you have the money and time, I extremely recommend taking a day trip out to see it.

When you're in Paris, you should definitely stop by to see the Eiffel Tower, The Louve, Notre Dame, Etc. Lucky for you, you're not using a car, so that means you can use the Parisian Subways. Quick, cheap, easy to get around the city. Also, if you can, take another day trip out of Paris and visit the Palace of Versailles. I believe it is the palace the last queen and king of france lived in before being executed.

Those are the only two places on your list I've been to. You'll have to research the rest. THAT SAID, if you can, stop by in the City of Wiesbaden, a rich western Germany city on the way to Paris. If you can, maybe we can meet up! That's where I'm located right now! (My profile says frankfurt but I'm literally 15 minutes away from Wiesbaden)

If you take the time to stop and say hello, I'd gladly show you around for free!!!!

Der Ratskeller in Munich. It's in the Marienplatz. Good restaurant. If you have time I would visit Oberammergau, it's a great small town at the base of the Alps, it's pretty close to Munich, maybe an hour or so.
