Why do you think some people on this website are so cruel and rude to each other for unnecessary reasons?
I know i will probably get a bunch of backlash/troll answers because of this thread, but I genuinely want to know why this happens to a bunch of people because I don't get it.

Its a game about lying and deception, so we will get liars and deceivers. Games about bad stuff bring bad people. Also there is no real consequence of your actions due to the interwebs
I find most of the people here so nice that it's sickening. Tbh I like it when they're cruel or rude because that is what's expected. I feel uncomfortable when they're nice

the essence of trolling is essentially to subjugate the trolled person or persons. in real life, someone being mad is something dangerous, but online it's a joke, we can make light of it, we control it. it's the same sort of thing as why people watch horror movies or shoot-em-ups or why we tell awful jokes; it's all to bring the bad of the world under our control, make it something not so bad. heck, there's very little in the world in the way of entertainment or being funny or attractive that isn't playing upon something awful. that's just how it is. that's what what's attractive is. self preservation. smile for big scary daddy when he's playing peek-a-boo, maybe he'll stick to just that, that's not so bad. and so we troll each other too, taking more and more freedom the more caustic we are.
when i joined this site, i was very nice to everybody. But then one day, i was cop, and mafia ccd me. That is where this all started. I wanted to kill that guy for ccing me.
Then one day i was mafia, and i realized that the other guy was just doing his job. So i went back to being absolutely nice to everyone.
Then one day, a very old player, who already knew everything about the game, abused me for ccing him when i was mafia and he was cop. I tried to get her to stop. But she just wont stop. I tried to avoid her for a few games, but she would follow me around and vote me because i beat her in that game. Then one game she was town and i was doc save. She lynched me out of grudge. She had a mod friend who helped her get away with this. Then i broke my vow and started cursing again.
Then one day i thought i should just forgive all of them as they were just out of their mind.
Then one day i met some absolute idiots like peta/ prevail/ etc. They randomly threw games and admitted to throwing it.
Then i saw that they did it without any provocation. So i started to use appeal to emotion as a strategy. I had to keep my act up so i made an image of myself every pregame. Someone who curses a lot.
Some moderators and their friends did very mean things to me and even admitted to doing that. They were demodded but later on some stupidity got them remodded. well i just stopped giving a about what these internet people think about me. people who i meet in real life are very pleased with my humble behavior, so i am cool with my image on this site.
appleofmeye got abused by me once because one game i had hammer on lylo and she still couldnt believe i was clear. I knew she deserved to be treated the way i treated her. I guess she got better so i forgave her. But her friend projectmatt openly admits to scrounging for vios for me, so i dont care about her at all. even though she is very nice.
mellifluous is male, and also an account that's been solely used for trolling and gamethrowing since winning a trophy, which isn't the first time the owner of the account has used a trophy alt to do so
i don't actually have a problem with most people who are irredeemably awful at mafia but it really grinds my gears when people blatantly line step in a way that they've learned will keep them out of trouble with plausible deniability
