Hello, I need to write an essay about this topic. I need to write what I would like to learn from American culture and what I would like to share with Americans about my culture.
I know that a lot of Americans play this so please help. What would you be most interested to know about a foreign person/culture? What would you share about your culture?
Cool guys! Thank you for your opinions and suggestions! By the way, we should realize wakemeupxo's idea :D Anyway, I will be participating in a contest, where you need to write all kinds of mini-essays (prize is trip to USA). This was one of them. But there is also free space left titled: ''Please add anything else you would like us to know: '' What do you think they want from me?
pda is cute unless u can see a tongue thats da rulez
southeastern america is where i'm from; i would probably share things like recipes that have been passed down in my family or all the cool really old small town stuff. but i would also share some of the really bad parts of our history-- for example when i'm not in school i live about 15 minutes away from a civil rights museum, and i went to a high school that was built basically on top of a civil war battleground.
i would be most interested to know about a foreign person's daily life! it's always so interesting to see how another person's routine can be so similar in some ways and so different in others to my own.
but also, pda is bad and please send vocaroos of "Now, if you two don’t mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed - or worse, expelled." and "You! You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!"
i think this is definitely true from my very limited experience
jasper and i got told off by some random woman in a queue at universal studios for kissing where children could see. she wouldn't stop having a go until she forced jasper to say 'harry potter' when she realized we were british
Well, I did say more friendly or less reserved, heh. If you go to Upstate New York people there are so friendly that they leave their cars unlocked with the keys just in case people need a ride (in a couple towns, not all) and American society doesn't really have any filler and for one thing we're probably over-sexualized and (mostly) religiously tolerant and we're also very accepting to people sexuality/gender (or more so than other countries)
For one thing, Americans are usually a lot louder and more friendly/less reserved than other cultures.
I agree. We are pretty loud (especially us Philadelphians ugh....you can hear us a mile away)
As for friendly.. I'd say maybe more in your face haha. We're pretty blunt.
My friend from England (grade 8 exchange trip) said that we're all really rude and waaaaaaaaaay too honest. I believe that tbh. I think we really tend to say whatever we're thinking or the first thing on our minds.
In reply to wakeme: I think you should be fully aware sensitive topics like that aren't really appropriate for forums like these... it's not even related to the OP anyway
Sorry
I just wanted help on my paper. sigh

Is this sarcastic
Well maybe not the loud part that may be true
In comparison to Arab culture she is actually 100 percent accurate there.

To be fair I'd probably rant for hours on end about the many problems Arab society and/or culture suffers from, but eh I think I'm a bit harsh. There are definitely a few wonderful parts that the American society/culture itself could benefit from.
