Clean up the mentor program

about 10 years

Half the mentors are in requirement of mentor-ship themselves.

You need some standards here.

when you play a stacked table you n1 the dumbest player because then they are the easiest read for everyone lol

and i agree, not having a norm is important lol

does not apply to good tables lol.

and you said that's not why you didn't want me to be a mentor lol, it's for my much weaker scumhunting game lol

Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out that advocating fearkilling is playing on a crutch. If it ever becomes a "norm" for you you're going to get screwed when you hit a stacked table.

exactly

why give yourself a harder time and potentially make the game an hour long one when killing the only other smart person on the table means the game will end in 10 ish minutes lol

It's not a self-imposed handicap.

This isn't some high-tier elitist competition, it's an enjoyable online game that you play in your spare time. If you become fixated enough on it that it ever becomes more than that then you, my dear sir, have an issue.

i agree, i'd find it pretty rude to be fearkilled

but if a player does so time and again, predictability becomes their biggest weakness and can then be easily exploited upon.

predictability = biggest contributor to losses on epicmafia.com
about 10 years
i don't think doing that is legitimately objectionable, it's possible for people to read someone from a kill if their tendencies get too predictable, and no one is obligated to play with him if they think he's likely to n1 them

the counter argument here is iron sharpens iron and obviously is a much better mindset if you want to improve

ofc i won't tell people to fearkill u nob

'The scrub mentality is to be so shackled by self-imposed handicaps as to never have any hope of being truly good at a game. '

im not calling you a scrub but not killing the biggest detriment to your wincon is pretty suboptimal lol

you play to win

how is that in any way suboptimal?

obviously if there is a doc you don't kill runners/bignames because they're likely doc targets and instead kill the person you least know about.

more variables you can control = easier win regardless of alignment

The guy that just wrote that is teaching people to play.

why give yourself a harder time as scum

itg321 says

but if a fellow runner is in game and i am scum the only optimal play (both in running and because they're a proven competent player) is to shoot them n1

No.

I agree with text by forum-poster CultedPuppy who knows especially well about players that don't play towards their win condition.

how about me, what do you think about me

i mean you only need someone to be baseline competent to explain the basics to people, though theres some people there that shouldnt be explaining high level play
