The reason mods have miserable lives is because the list is readily available. If nobody knew you were mod unless you told people, then the mod team could become a better part of the community. Read Bear's resignation, Rutab's, Retti's, Vancy's, and Shacky's. They all say that being in the forefront makes their job miserable. Anyway, discuss deleting the moderator tab and the star and the mod upvotes/downvotes. Make them only handle reports and give out violations. Anyway, discus.

The reason that mods have miserable lives is cos a lot of them are genuinely miserable human beings.

the obvious solution is to keep the mod list public but make all mod actions anonymous so that mods then have incentive to eliminate the ones who are making them as a now singular blob terrible.

this is just a joke btw, both these ideas are terrible.

I should add that in my perfect world. The community can hold accountable the mod team as a whole for their actions. But the mod team itself has to be willing to hold the individual mods accountable for their actions.

Remove vios if someone complained enough just to appease the masses.

I think that precedent set how the mod/community relationship has been ever since.

If I could change something. I would make mod actions and mod reports anonymous. It a report is done incorrectly, the community could still obviously complain about it, but it would help prevent witch hunts.

The reason mod turnover is so high is because of how mentally exhausting this job can be.

Not anonymous, but hidden. I'm not talking about Police, but just remove the moderator tab and take them out of the spotlight. Only the mods and admins would know if they screw up.
