Changes in this latest version:
Deputy has been changed to Sheriff, and Sniper has been Changed to Illusionist. Interrogator has been changed to Stalker. Result: The mafia members in every setup all have meetings. This eliminates the mafia killing each other so often as they did in the previous versions.
What A2TA (Always 2 There Are) is:
It is a multi setup with 6 possible role sets, the only role that never changes is that there is always 1 Gallis.
Everyone claims d1 because there are 7 different roles (there will be two villager because Gallis appears blue to self). The mafia avoid detection by claiming the town sided roles that are missing from their setup. During their Dawn Meeting, they figure out which setup it is, and what to claim.
At D1 everyone should claim there role, but the mafia should claim as follows: Paralyzer claims Villager, Illusionist claims Sheriff, Hooker claims Drunk, Gramps claims Bulletproof, Stalker claims Jailer, and Fabricator claims Gunsmith.
From there the object of the game is narrow down the setups. The setup is narrowed down when people die. When certain roles or pairs of roles die, this will clear and/or confirm other roles.
Therefore the maf want to kill people in a manner that will not let people know which setup it is, and the town wants to kill people in a way so as to narrow down which setup it is.
Role Breakdown:
TOWN:
Villager: You might be the Gallis, so don't self-vote. (unless of course the Gallis is already dead.) Try not to freak out too much when you realize someone is ccing you for last blue, because Gallis appears as Blue to himself. Watch for anyone who looks like they might be trying to gallis pop.
Gallis: If you appear to be blue, and there is a dead villager already, you are clear and Gallis, so you need to lead the town. Otherwise follow what is said for villager.
Sheriff: You have a gun. You can choose whether to fire it D1, or wait until D2. As obvious as it may seem, you know that you are innocent. SO, use that knowledge to determine the optimal shot by looking at the setups and determining who is most likely to be mafia.
Drunk: You are a very important late game piece. Drunk your FoS, and don't Be afraid to drunk a villager. Remember, they could be a paralyzer.
Bulletproof: You are the least likely to die, so it is your job to be the main scum hunter and have FoS by lylo.
Jailer: You are an important early game piece. When there is a No Lynch, you can role block someone like a drunk can, and even kill them. It is usually much safer for you to keep them alive, but sometimes it can be a good idea to kill, more often if you happen to actually have a No Lynch in late game.
Gunsmith: You may not want to gun at first, but as the game goes on, you want to gun the clears. DO NOT LET THE TOWN BE IN A 5-WAY WITH NO GUNS, because if 2 non-Gallis roles are dead, then there is a confirmed mafia, and also, if there are 2 mafia and a Gallis alive with no guns, The mafia have already won because of Gallis popping.. So if the Sheriff has already used his gun, and it looks like it will be a 5-way, you need to gun someone. So it is important that you get Town reads throughout the game.
MAFIA:
Paralyzer: You claim Villager. Watch for people misvoting especially on lylo. Try to use persuasive reasoning to get the town to vote incorrectly. Take advantage and lock a wrong vote as soon as you see it. It usually only takes 1.
Hooker: You claim Drunk. You can Stop the Jailer from killing the paralyzer, and can also stop the Gunsmith from Gunning. So if you notice that at the end of a NL, that your maf partner is missing, you may want to hook the Jailer. Just be sure to have a good excuse for it at daytime.
Gramps: You claim Bulletproof. You are probably not going to die before your partner, so Just act townie, and try to convince the town that the Sheriff is an Illusionist or that the Villager is a Paralyzer.
Stalker: You claim Jailer. (The town can't tell the difference between a Jailhit and a regular hit.) Really sell it by telling everyone to NL for you, LOL. Your Job is to figure out which of the blues is the Gallis by Stalking. Set up a code so that you can signal your partner the next day.
Illusionist: You claim Sheriff. PICK NO ONE FOR YOUR ILLUSIONIST MEETING. If you fire your gun after having claimed sheriff, and it says someone else fired it, it will be obvious that you are not the Sheriff. Picking No one does not make your shot hide you like it would with a sniper, it just shows as you being the one who fired it.
Fabricator: You claim Gunsmith. Pretend that you forgot that there is the possibility of a fake gun. Only gun when it will be lylo, because when they shoot your gun it will prove that you are fake.(Because they will die.)
