When the ranked lobbies combined

deletedover 10 years

I don't think it was a popular decision amonst training lobby players. From what I remember from being active around that time, I simply remember comp lobbyist crying on the walls about inactivity in Comp games and begging for Trainers to leave T-Lobby and stop playing 'newb' setups.

Instead of thinking of them like this, think of of them as the setups that people liked because they were fun, and you could play them and have said fun and not have to worry. Still took a little bit of trying in order to win these 'newb' setups. Also you have to realize that most people didn't actually consider their score/trophies to be a representation of their manhood like Comp players seem to do. Most of us played for fun and the accumalative 'total points' was just numbers you earned after a game. Sure it's fun to have a high score, but as the kind of intermediate lobby, I could simply see that most people enjoyed the games themselves and not the outcome of said games, which we DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE.

The only people at the time who complained about anything on the site were Comp players who were mad that nobody in Training wanted to step up to play Comp...

Real quote from Comp Player I swear: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE IN COMP LETS MERGE LOBBIES SO WE CAN HAVE MORE PEOPLE RUN.

Real quote from same Comp Player, I swear: OH HES THROWING AGAINST ME. INCOMING GAMETHROW. WHY ARE THESE GOD DAMN NOOBS PLAYING COMP. OBVIOUS GT ALT. HES PLAYING WITH SOMEONE ALOT CHEATER CHEATER. OBVIOUS GY VISION.

And now you'd have to be daft to see why nobody in T-Lobby really ever cared for it... the culture you guys have in Competition is absolutely awful.

Nobody wins a trophy without playing lots of games with the same person. I'd like to see the last person to win a trophy while just joining games randomly and trying to win against the people in the game, rather than win with their friends or whoever their Em love is etc.

There is an obvious gap between players who want to play red heart games and setups that are now protected and locked down and blacklisted by people trying to protect the meaning of what internet pixel points really mean...

Somebody else getting points for playing Reverse shouldn't effect your life or your EM life. For example.

Sandbox and Training were the two most popular lobbies for a reason, people. Can you just stop turning a blind eye towards it now?

TL; DR

UNDO THE MERGER AND REAP THE REWARDS OF A BETTER ALL AROUND COMMUNITY.

They can be the voice that talks to Admin since he almost never responds to people?

Lobby merging was an admin decision that no single mod really has control over. You can cry all you want to the mods, it won't change unless the admin decides to do it.

I don't expect it to be thought about overnight. But I hope at some point the Moderating team can see the mistake in combining lobbies. What would happen if an NFL team played a college football team? It's what we see every day now but with EM players. For example, you're playing in a lobby of mixed players. Some have a lot of points, a colored name and the ability to 'run' a game. Newbs are at a heavy disadvantage and will be thrown under the bus/not believed as the Cop etc on ccs because they're up against a wolf who has already learned the ways of acting as a sheep. I saw it myself when I 'pointfarmed' my way to 1,500 points in comp. Almost every time I was maf and cc'd cop the new players would follow me instead. My win percentage was 65% versus the 51 it really is. Lots and lots of obvious problems with the merge. All of them being brushed aside for the sake of pixel trophies... instead of being the way it was where people could have fun in a lobby and play setups they enjoyed versus not playing setups other people dislike.

Wait so what is the point of this post? Do you think that the merger was a bad decision or do you agree with it? Either way the community has never been more united. JUST ENJOY PLAYING EPICMAFIA GODDAMNIT

I vehemently protest this statement. All I ever see is people crying about people who should essentially be playing in the Training Lobby playing on "point-farming" setups.

a lot of the old comp players have left, i believe. they were already bleeding before the merge. the argument could be made that more training players would venture to comp lobby now that they've experienced it, but eh. also, your timing is bad. after a s***storm, at 2:30am no less, is probably not the best time to attempt this.

Going back to normal of course. Which the Mods have already said no to I believe? But what if there is support from the community to go back to normal? That's what I'm starting with this, and if it fails so be it. But it's clear to me there is a problem with Comp players and how serious they take games versus others. It's a volatile minority in the Epic Mafia community as a whole and I think going back to normal would be the best scenario for everyone.
