for anyone who couldn't get their gif working:

mine wasn't working at first, but i put "lossy gif level" at 80 (medium) and it reduced the file size a lot which allowed it to work. the key is just a medium sized image with a smaller file size so just use the optimization methods until it works

if it doesn't stay animated you're gonna have to fiddle around with resizing until it stays animated in your avi because the other gif ones i did weren't staying animated.
