So to recap, Episode 1 was a "cinematic fallacy" because the actual film didn't live up to the hype, despite the fact that it's grossed over a billion dollars?

I'm talking about Episode 1, as in not the original trilogy.

Maybe it's just not as big of a deal in the UK as it is here though.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong if you're referring to the original trilogy when it first debuted in theaters. Even now, despite episodes 1-3 mostly sucking, the Star Wars franchise still makes nauseating amounts of money.

The way in which the film was marketed and advertised, it was believed that it would be a much better spectacle than it actually turned out. The outcome of the film was therefore a fallacy, regarding the hype that the media injected prior to the première.
In short; a cinematic fallacy.
Now get over it, I've never seen someone act so over-the-top about the use of one word.
hmm well i used a word that doesnt mean what i think it means, better try to lazily defend it rather than admit i made a mistake and ruin my attempts to appear intellectual on the epic mafia dot com forums in a thread about star wars
