Gryffindor

represented by: the lion

pros: (usually) have a good sense of judgment, despise injustice, they generally have their heart in the right place even though their actions may read otherwise, a strong sense of self

cons: hotheaded at their worst, can be very stubborn and arrogant, irritable, often make rash decisions without fully considering the consequences of their actions

Hufflepuff

key characteristics: withholding judgment, inclusivity, they tend to have very malleable personalities, can be either introverted or extroverted or both at the same time

Ravenclaw

pros: are very good at making and keeping interesting conversations, are able to look at things in many different ways, usually enjoy hearing the thoughts of others provided they are giving interesting and thoughtful perspectives

cons: are prone to being know-it-alls, can be very judgmental; on the surface may read as either overly eccentric or overly cold; though they are not necessarily direct, they usually show that someone bothers them by either writing off or ignoring things they say

Slytherin

key characteristics: are very good at assessing their situations, usually know the path they need to take to achieve what they wish to though they may not have the means to actually do so, they are very careful in who they choose as friends/allies

pros: focussed, when they set their sights to it they can turn anything into a profession, they are usually very sharp of mind and have high standards for themselves and those around them

cons: prone to selfishness, may pat themselves on the back for doing things that they probably should be doing anyway, can be ruthless

i'll probably add the actual symbols/badges/whatevers of each house to this but i just thought all this stuff up based on certain characters and friends of mine who were sorted on pottermore so i'm too dang lazy
