What can mods do to help Sandbox out? I know we get accused of catering to the "comp" players a lot, and I want to have us do more to help Sandbox too.
Well that disqualifies 3/4ths of sandbox.I tried playing new setups but people take red hearts as seriously as gold hearts. The former comp populace isn't making it easy for new players to join competitions >.> Now i just stick to reading games when they're over

I think sandbox actually came before mods. Just by like a week or two.
sandbox is ungrateful and barbaric and if we were to be let loose with no persons of authority watching over us we would turn cannibalistic in a matter of hours.
thank you mods for giving us at least a semblance of control
You mean like Sandbox did for years before mods came? :^)
mods were introduced before sandbox.
wasnt that the exact same time

most of the players are garbage (see how a lot of reports lately are throwing out of an autowin)
Because that's the attitude that will help new players learn the game.
Not quoting a quote chain because it's messy, but bronto, I avoid playing in Main because if I'm looking to be social, that's what sandbox is for and if I want to actually play the game, I head over to Comp, and I feel this is what most active users of sandbox do.
As for mods, I've always been satisfied with sandbox's moderation. The only incident I can think of is the Shipping episode a few nights back, but that was resolved relatively peaceably. If you really want to do something for sandbox, allow us to have some power in addition of future mods or something.
Comp is a dead lobby, Main Lobby has a competition that basically functions as Comp Lobby had.
I've been trying to get more sandbox people modded, but one of the challenges is finding people who feel comfortable enough with ranked setups, since you're modding predominantly for main lobby, after all.

Where have you been the past few decades? Comp has been depopulated, main is training and comp.

Yeah, it'd be nice if everyone was just more welcoming.
That's mainly because not everyone had the opportunity to get to know the mods first-hand. Most encounters are through reports, where people get frustrated if the person they reported walks free, or if they get a vio for a report. If there were some way to get the mods to sit down and talk for a bit with the community, maybe join a few games for those that are less active in forums/chatbox. For example everyone that knows kino and hima knows that they are trying their hardest and are just but the people that just just come on for a few games see them as "people with power a.k.a the mod team that doesn't care."
My two cents, meep meep
Good point, encouraging engagement from mods in Sandbox would probably do a lot of good. You guys should play in Main more too.

This was actually meant to be a serious thread, Satan. As much as I'd love to partake in learning about marine life, this was meant to be epicmafia related.
