Going into college I had extremely low self esteem. My family and my roommate's family unpacked everything, and we were on our own. I didn't miss home, but I was worried that I would get lost in the 40,000 other people and not get to know many people. Turns out a girl that I worked with that also went here was feelin the same way, and she texted me and we got together. My roommate, our two girls and I were just sitting relaxing outside before dinner when a guy came up to us and was like "hey you guys seem cool, wanna come to a party tonight?".. The feeling of inclusiveness was exactly what I needed and it turned my self esteem around literally instantly. We went, had a blast, and my college experience was amazing. All thanks to such an inclusive environment. I probably would have been lost had that day gone differently.
