I enjoy the works of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, he postits that that life, thought and philosophy follows a triad: Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis. Simply:

Thesis: A belief, ideal, notion etc.

Antithesis: The opposite of the belief, ideal, notion etc.

Synthesis: The result of the thesis and antithesis clashing or collabrating - this forms a new thesis and renews the cycle.

It's with this method that we advance and evolve as a civilization and as people.

Reality is relative to limited senses we have to trust as genuine on faith. Science, the world and our perceptions is fundamentally a faith based system created through shared common experiences. Entry level philosophy explores concepts like this such as the allegory of the cave or your brain being owned by a demon who shows you images.

Realistically our own existence and phyiscal state is a negative that can't be proven or disproven. Reality is subject to our individual perceptions and the "lunatic" or blind persons reality is only considered false because of collaboration, however inherently there is nothing that shows others aren't lying or that they in fact exist.

Therefore I'm agnostic to the idea of invisble pink unicorns. For all I know they could exist and if you genuinely believed they did, they would. Similiarly if you believe in God, God exists.

All lives have meaning of varying significance. Civilization hasn't progressed to where it is on the shoulders of giants, but rather through the collective contributions of all components of civilization.

For instance: Every amateur web developer who contributes code to the public domain, no matter how small or insignificant, expands that pool of ideas and resources which others can expand upon and others upon those to create more robust applications built at their foundations some tiny thing one guy threw into the pool some years ago.

no, like all things I prefer whichever concept has more quantifiable and verifiable evidence than those that do not

I have an image of who I would like myself to be but am aware I am not, but I move towards and away from that image at whatever rate I'm able or forced to by my situation and the reality of who I am, which I find malleable and steadily increasing in likeness to who I would rather be although still far from it.
