Playing with terrible players consistently has only maintained a steady migraine for myself with 0 variety in their awful play.
I'm incredible.

This. Playing 25, or 60, or 200, or 500 games with bad players won't help you develop the necessary skills that you learn while playing in a competitive atmosphere. THe sooner players jump into the competitive atmosphere, the sonner they'll improve. There will always be waves of new bad players coming in and there's nothing that will prevent that from happening, or from them quote on quote ruining competitive games. It just is what it is.

i have never grs'd on autoloss? lol i have grsd when i didnt get a gun as bleeder tho....
Miloo, people GRS on autoloss cause they are bad losers, it has nothing to do with having played x number on games (example: caroline, love you babe).
We saw that Pranay also claims to forget n1 innos are clear if last mafia is lawyer, and I doubt anybody played more games than him on this site, so we can also see, that point is defeated.
Seeing bus/wifom/reaction tests can only be done if good, valuable players host games and play their red heart games with the newcomers, so they can learn.
So we already have concluded it's not about the number of games played but rather the quality of those games played (let's say, with quality players who are open to teaching some wisdom). System already made the point, that if you play only Classic, it doesn't really matter after 25, since you already have seen cc-ing, giving hammer, etc.

Skill's been a rare commodity over the last years. It's not like Main was a bad idea.
Players are only going to get better via exposure to better players.
Complaining about them ruining the competition is pointless, seeing as that's the only real way for them to improve. The difference between 25 classic games and 2500 classic games is negligible.
1500 / 60 = 25 ===> you can join the competitive games after 25 wins. Let's assume that person is a good player right from the start and they have a 50/50 pie (therefore has played 50 games) ==> Q: Does 50 games prepare you for the competitive atmosphere? A: ofc not! Q: Does it guarantee that a GRS won't occur (specially when that player is in autoloss)? A: as witnessed by everyone on multiple occasions, no it doesn't.
....
5000 / 60 ~= 83 ===> around 160 games. Q: Isn't 160 games too much for new players? A: It is! But why would someone who's not gonna stick around for even 2 weeks want to join competitive games while nothing's stopping them from playing the same setup with red hearts! Q: What does experiencing 160 games guarantee? A: Not GRS on autoloss, not GTing purposely or not, playing a setup other than classic/multi, having the experience of seeing a buss/wifom/rxn test/... , actually caring about the game and many many other aspects.
It also gives new players a reason to keep on playing until they are past the first phase.
5k would make it prohibitive for people to run in a decent amount of time. The whole point is to get people playing and 1500 points takes enough effort.
Compare these two: More people winning trophies on their alts VS. Not having tens of noobs, inexperienced players who are going to GT/play badly in your games.
