Yeah true. Hey love can I get your perspective as a young person? Is cutting holes in your fridge cool these days? Or is it for "squares"?

That may be true, KHNM. Though I would suggest the ulterior considerations that should be made for your situation.
For example, there is an element of prestige behind being the guy that dismantled his stainless steel fridge, so that he could maintain his yard stick.

Hmm good point harrold. I'm starting to think th yardstick maintenance regimen may cost me more than just buying a new yardstick in a few years.
Harrold you can stay

How should it be spelt?

As long as you're sure that you'd be more content with buying a new power saw and destroying your fridge than spending the 79 cents to replace the yard stick, then I will have a browse.

I think I scared him off love - your thread is safe now :)

Ok I'm going to need to saw a hole in the door to get into fit. Can you recommend a good power saw that can get the job done? My fridge is stainless steel

I'm struggling to find any decent information for yard sticks.
I would imagine that coating it in a good layer of varnish and storing it in the fridge would be the best way to go.

What kind of tips do you have for maintaining my yardstick? I would hate to have to spend another 79 cents in a few years

Nice to see that someone is keeping posts on topic.
These are both fine purchases.
A well maintained yard stick will stay with you for years.
