I think it turns red if you have a profile background.

I've noticed that all users with a custom background have red text, so that's why you have it

I think Jupiter is right after stalking a couple of players with gold trophies (all have red text).

Yeah it's probably due to the bright text since supposly if you have a black background you won't be able to see a black username. Hence the red color I guess.
