There's a simple way to reduce the amount of host-killing or grudge-killing, in unranked or ranked. Anon decks! Anon decks are not only fun to play with, they also prevent players from knowing eachother's identities until the end of the game.
I don't think this is a good idea. There is a reason why mafia can choose the kill.
However, some people might prefer a game where the night action for night 1 for the mafia has been predetermined. The only thing they can do is end the meeting. This would only work for the kills, as for example some people like to kill-hook and others never do it. You can also go further and have that for all night actions, instead of just the mafia's. This only works for the night start setups, but it ensures that people can't be meta'ed because of the kill, investigation, or anything similar. It is in a way like having an anon deck only for night 1. I imagine that would be harder to implement. The drawbacks are obvious.
Uhmm.... Sorry, but, as fun as annon decks are in a game, I could NEVER play an annon game seriously. They are my guilty pleasure because you can lead lynches just based solely on what people get in the deck rather than actual game play, ie:
In the colors deck, "What IS *insert strange color name here* anyway????" "Idk, but it's certainly not BLUE; let's lynch it!" and bw ensues.
Or, in my personal favorite, the pokemon deck, "Let's kill the stupid gen five pokemon for ruining the franchise!" or "It's always those darn grass types! They have bullet seed, after all!"
it is optimal for town to out their identity to allow for them to be read more easily via meta. to hide meta is to avoid being read via meta which conceals your alignment. as town you want to be read as town, so claiming your identity helps you be read as town and thus it is optimal to have claimed.
mafia will be forced to out their identities else they be shown as mafia for hiding it. mafia cannot claim to be someone else as they risk claiming to be someone who is alive or if not, they can be "guise" tested.
this is the flaw of anonymous games. until anonymity is enforced, which will never happen, they will be fatally flawed 4eva
I don't think you're in a position to criticise other people's typos.
Anon decks would stop a N1 and if nobody was able to alter the way that they talk to remain anonymous then how would town-criers and crier lines work? They wouldn't, so it stops grudge-killing as well if, like Sammie said, people don't play like morons.
There's nothing wrong with host killing. I mean, it stinks that they have been waiting the longest, but if people think that person is likely to check them as cop or fos them, there's no REASON they shouldn't be able to kill them.
Sammie, he said anon "prevent players from knowing eachother's identities UNTIL THE END OF THE GAME"
you can prevent a host kill, but not a grudge lynch or grudge kill, since already on d1, you can recognize somebody from the way they speak... read the title, please.
