Admin asked me to do this in the public forums, and I can't currently access the competitive forums to make a new topic anymore (with my tragic Dynaon account being self-deleted in a bad fit), so I have posted this here. Please, if anyone has the decency to do so as well, you may help me by extending this to the Competitive Forums in my honor.

This is a player named Mortality. Okay, I'm going to have to step in and say that this is not going to fly. There are some words here that make a lot of sense, but as a person who actually has a partnership with Adsense, I do not see how you're using these filters to clean up the site. It's not the fact that the words are used, but it's the actual frequency of the words used in places that members visit often, like the comments section. Maybe these could be applied to comments and forums only, but don't ban them in game, considering those are temporary and can be broken very easily.

And even then, you're going a little too far with the damned filters, aren't you? I mean, you're banning the words 'gay' and 'homo'. Does that mean you believe that Google is a homophobic search engine? Something just screams to me that you're overreacting over a few reports and now you're trying to clean up a dirty site, when in reality, we're only fucking human. However, there is a list of 'stop words' that I can agree that are very profane.

Now, to defend what the Admin is trying to do is very easy. He just wants to keep Adsense on this site because, let's face it, we know how he keeps this site up. Monetizing the site with ads is why we all can keep our websites up (aside from a well-paying job in the first place). It should be a group effort to help clean up the site, not be a complete Angola shut down of everything we normally use. Now, what we need to do is take out the less frequent but absolutely hurtful profane words and make sure they're filtered for further viewing of the website.

I should warn that if too many words like 'abortion' or 'slaughtered' are used, we could end up getting something called a PSA, a Public Service Announcement, on the site. Those look horrible on a website that's just meant to be about mafia. So let's do the Admin a favor and try to be a little nicer, but Admin, do us a favor and give us a little more freedom. it'll do both parties a lot of good.

"Gay" and "Homo" are sometimes used as slurs. I haven't spent enough time in the main community recently to know how often the community at large uses them as slurs though.

Also I don't see how "passed away" and "casket" are more profane than "Homo" being used as a slur. This post sure is right out of your bum

Orithyus, this isn't for the sake of changing the site, it's meant to help the AdSense on the off chance that people do use that word. I'm trying to help change the site without telling people to try and behave in a way that is different than what is ALREADY accepted on here. I apologize if you dislike that, but that's what I'm trying to do.

And for your information, I utilize this on my own site with the exact same filters on the 'stop words' I showed you. My traffic is just fine, even though I also use profanity.

And in terms of PSAs, I'm not even sure what that bullcrap is. I've never heard of an official PSA on the internet, and after searching for about 5 minutes, I haven't been able to find anything of note. If there are official PSAs for the internet, they're very difficult to find. And I'm confident that there's a lot of other websites that would be targeted before EM.

Half of this is total bullcrap. The "stop words" list and the stuff about a PSA are not true at all. In regards to everyone behaving, while I'd like to imagine a world in which everyone gets together, holds hands, and sings harmoniously, I don't think it's a reality, and there's going to have to be some crack down on rule enforcement, whether it's through automatic filters or violations for profane language.

Though I'm all for at least encouraging people to try to behave and act nicer, everything else here is miserably wrong.

A lot of what's allowed and what isn't is still being discussed. I appreciate you making this post, Mortality.

My advice is try not to use any words you wouldn't use around anyone under the age of 13.
