Smithy is perfect because not only is he a boss that Mario has to deal with but he is also a villain that Koopa fights as well.

I was figuring you'd include his whole clan. I dunno. I feel birdo is an important character though. I would say if you end up having that role that no one really fits into I'd just slap him/her there.
