Has anyone played mafia IRL?12
Serious Post time
When I was a senior in high school, one of my teachers suggested we play a game & at the time we had no idea what. He asked us to form a circle and explained the rules... which turned out to be pretty much Mafia.
We drew our roles via paper in a hat. I got Mafia on my first game, and decided to CC cop. They fell for my dumbtell & we won the game... little did they know I was the best Mafia in the world hehe.
How me being mafia worked - DarkB usually is very good at mafia, hang him.
How me being town worked - DarkB usually is very good at mafia, hang him.
Phew the frustration... the most ive played with is 40 people. we had like 4 cops and 4 doctors but they all picked the same person, just more people to continue the legacy. I found it fun because they put me on the stand and I go "I was sleeping the whole time." Some guy said, he makes a very good case and then they were chanting to inno me. I ended up living the whole game and I wasnt mafia.
Very frustrating indeed.
setup was stupid, i think it was 5 blues one cop one doc one hunter vs 3 maf
tbh IRL it's too hard for maf coordination, and it's boring to have a game master who justs makes everyone open/close their eyes.
The game wasn't allowed, except for Christmas I think.
I tried to do vanilla setup. It was awful. Tbh, I slightly framed the roles, I made cop someone who I thought would be confident leading, and I made the other volunteer a mafia. The other mafia was a shy kid who I thought would benefit. Doc was another shy kid.
Cop got an inno, maf killed a blue. Day 1, cop didn't claim, despite my (the narrator's) strong hints. Everyone just sat around awkwardly, then they lynched the doc for 'not making eye contact'.
I was in the corner like "wow im not supposed to help here but if you are say an important rolle about to get lynched it would be a good idea to claim here just a hint idk im the narrator."
She didn't claim, and died.
Mafia killed the next night, d2 I explain that if they lynch wrong they lose today. Cop has two innos, and still doesn't claim. The other volunteer (who I made mafia deliberately, thinking she'd be an easy lynch for them as she wasn't part of their little social group) didn't seem to get my hints, and started overplaying and attempting to scumhunt.
Somehow town considered lynching the second mafia (shy guy) but in the end they lynched a different blue. Mafia killed in the night and won.
We didn't reach a second game.
