There are only three ways a human could of evolved to be a human as they are. The first thing is humans use to be around extremely bad weather and geological events "all the time" and it forced people to be more civilized about how they do things like building houses. The second thing is that humans use to treat nations as if they were living organisms and people who didn't respect nations were executed. The third is that humans came from a whole other planet and someone tried to take over the new planet, ultimately destroying most of the technology they took with them in the process.
