The balance has nothing to do with the mechanics of the game, it's the players. By day 1 you have an automatic 50/50 with nilla ccing. It's not that often that bomb gets taken out n1.
What I really like about this setup is that there isn't a single maf that's more important than the other. As is if you lose a certain maf, there's really no chance at coming back... Less pressure for mafia. It's balanced. A lot of it comes down to 50/50 especially day 1.
