what I like about this setup is that at first glance it seems really mafsided, but its so hard for them to cc anything so they really rely on voodoo. Awesome setup 10/10

My thoughts, Emmer is too op in this set up.

Thanks Pene! I'm finding it literally can go either way on a game-by-game basis. The maf team is strong where the voodoo chooses good words and the sniper is wise about shoooting.

Basically it all depends on how d1 turns out, and which side Emmerr is on.

I am still laughing about the time when I cursed Emmerr.

Remove 1 BP so that town start in mylo without a ML and sniper could make it lylo :^)

town is doing better right now, but I feel like its because "main" lobby hasnt grown accustomed to the roles yet, every d1 involves explaining what santa and voodoo can do. without a good player as sniper or voodoo, maf is in trouble, buuut taking away a bp can make it too easy for maf if they happen to be good. day 1 starts on mylo, sniper shoots for lylo, voodoo curse ends game... this setup just needs time

i knew this would lean town. however, it IS in the range that would be considered a normal setup ATM, which i was doubtful of. this is probably due to voodoo being indeterminately strong

my original suggestion was replace caroler with dreamer and sniper with illusionist. with this sample though, it will probably fully balance out with just one of those changes.

I'm finding that, unless the voo game is strong (and sniper doesn't stupidly shoot d1), this ends up being a challenging setup for town. I'm hoping that, as players get familiar with roles and setup mechs, and maf ultimately gets 'better', this should balance out.

that is usually the case in complex setups, however, town has some learning to do as well from the games ive speccd

its acting like a relatively balanced setup emmer. im p sure it will lean townsided but im not sure by how much. maybe as little as 1% ? you will not know for sure until at least 200 plays. even after that it will evolve because meta will be established and people will have ways to counter it. but this has def earned the right to be played out that far (which is more than you can say for most setup tests that are unique)

but um im worried for your family if you have hookers sleeping around at Christmas :3

And yes to all below that - I think this will take a LOT of plays to really see whether it's truly balanced. I do wish mafia would stop whispering snipers d1 though - it puts maf in autoloss when it leaks.

sadly, this means the sniper has only one target. the orc is the only qualified target if mafia cannot communicate. what this means for town is that when meta has established, they will no longer be able to claim to the orc. gameplay strategy is yet in its infancy, sigh.

Not necessarily - in my game just now, caroller and santa were both out (leaked whispers) and you can possibly PoE them by d2 (snipers should not be shooting d1). We just won because of strong voodoo and sniper play. If players continue to use the optimal strategies, maf have a decent chance.
