first of all, connor never said being gay was a bad thing. he said it was 'weird and unusual'

second of all, it is a fact that homosexuality is 'weird, unusual'; it deviates from the norm, which is heterosexuality. heterosexuality is the default; homosexuality isn't, thus making it arguably 'weird and unusual'

What Connor is saying is that it is a species' natural instinct to procreate, homosexuals cannot do this and as such it goes against humanity's need to reproduce.
