[appeal] https://epicmafia.com/report/195966 - the rules page says nothing about saying "i swear on xyz that i'm not mafia". according to the rules page ogi is "Using tools or processes outside of a game in a game including, but not limited to: posting on profiles, lobbies, or the forums revealing game-related information, clearly stated meta posted on profile, whether followed or not, reporting a player in a game in progress, using third party functions or sites to make in-game decisions, bribes or threats (such as karma, kudos, and reporting), and pregame pact. Pretending to cheat as a reaction test also falls under OGI". how can you give the same punishment to this guy that you would give to a person that screenshotted their role and posted it? all he did was appeal to emotion.

This is not OGI, it's just a form of emotional appeal. OT'd to NV (2/2).

you realise that mafia is a game based around lying, right?

do you really think that saying "i swear on baby jesus i'm town" and posting screenshot of your role in the game should be punished in the same way

tsk tsk tsk . . .

Whatever your particular stance on this issue, using the term "including, but not limited to" is much more efficient than writing down literally ever single offense that a rule could cover. There's no list of banned phrases for the HC rule in the same vein.

what kind of a dumb system are you operating when the rule book is intentionally vague with "including but not limited to"

surely using any forms of meta deserves an ogi vio too then. if it's "not limited to" the list of things specified

It says "including, but not limited to" those things. I personally would say that swearing on the lives of your family members is an attempt to influence the game from outside it but I can see how others might interpret it as an appeal to emotion. Also, if you don't think someone deserves to be punished for breaking a rule, don't report them for it.
