Jack the Ripper was torn apart before it could even be tried in a setup. Lucid ruined it.
Cyborg and Usurper are pretty broken and unpopular, but I'd have to say what roles generally are the worst received based on long-time sandbox opinion would be Zombie, Old Maid and Autocrat. Just based on what ive seen for years don't read too much into this
Zombie makes the game go on for literal years and isn't fun to play as with no night conversation, Old Maid makes someone guaranteed to lose the game(often times on autowin to make someones efforts as town/mafia for the entire game pointless), and Autocrat is an anti-town role that people just hate, like mastermind but to a much larger extent(since you have to prioritize autocrat in order to be able to win)
Most 3rds that are excluded from setups are often because they're too hard to win or makes the game too annoying. I think that Zombie and Auto falls in the latter half, Maid would fall in the first since its impossible to win as but it always gets included in setups because people literal role swapping

maid is definitely just the poor mans amnesiac. amn has the benefit of not impacting the player amned (bc theyre dead) and of actually getting to choose the alignment ur going to side with. maid is just playing hot potato because no one wants to be stuck with maid for any length of time, while with amn it can be a good strat to actually wait longer and see what roles become available
i know its a low-ball meme to make fun of maid, but it is sincerely one of the worst roles in the game. really the only reason to include it in a setup is to just screw over a random player completely, which i guess has its merits but really doesnt add much to the game
