but if you want something more humble and less competitive try marine biology or world languages. actually idk if marine biology requires med school so that might be off the table

you know what marine bio actually sounds cool also im too monolingual for world languages

Just took my marine bio final earlier today Pretty fun class. We were planning on going on several in the field trips but that got cancelled so we watched documentaries. We watched The Cove and Tapped. You learn about all the up shit people are doing today. I never want to travel to Japan after watching those documentaries.

I recommend taking some sort of applied psychology class or whatever your college offers that helps students decide which career they would fit in and then choose your major based off of whatever career you're a fit for.

the truth is no one can tell you what you should do--and you have to look inwardly to find what is right for you. think about what you get lost in, so enthralled that the hours pass by and suddenly it's 9pm. however, you might not be sure of what that is yet--which is fine.

school & extracurriculars help you figure out what you're good at, and what you're passionate about. if you are undecided, you have a bit of time to decide your path as you take gen eds like math and english and history and sciences, but you can't take too long to decide.

ultimately a degree is a tool to get you into a field or job. it helps to think of the endgame. what career or service can you see yourself doing? do you want to make things? help people? manage others? perform? etc. and then, you can ask yourself, what degree will help me accomplish this goal? what specific degree will allow me to be competitive for this field?

but if that's way too specific for you, think about what field or subjects interest you the most, and start from there.

it's not about being rich, too--it's about what brings you personal satisfaction and makes a livable amount of money. because, let's face it, whatever you choose you will end up doing for many years, unless you have a career change, which is fine too.
