i feel like i'm the only person who doesn't get the hype around marriage story

really the strongest bits of that film are right at the beginning and when they have that breakdown in adam driver's apartment. i enjoyed the ending but i just didn't find it super remarkable.

Idk like I loved seeing how the things escalated and both sides of it.

what did you think of the lighthouse?? I thought it was great. I didn't know what to expect when i was going to watch it but was blown away. I'd definitely recomment Bombshell though.

January is such a good month with all the films being released before the award ceremony's.

I never got round to watching SWMY - I saw a 5 minute clip that's about it.

Midsommar was p good but one thing that really bothered me was how the characters were acting in situations - like the girl who thought her boyfriend just let her suddenly after years of a relationship like how did you believe that? you're travelling together and he suddenly left yeah right. I would've smelled the right then and there - there was a few other things too but I can't remember what.

The Gentlemen is worth the watch - excluded from my list cause it's a 2020 release

ye Midsommar wasn't perfect but the overall theme of miscommunication was presented p well, would have liked for the mundane parts to be more fleshed out cos I think that was where the better writing was.

SWMY is great, not as good as I, Daniel Blake but Ken Loach a fkin don, both films were rlly moving

I got sent the blu ray for this today so I’ll watch it this weekend most likely, quite excited for it - I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about it

also Joker is a bad movie and nothing will change my mind. Midsommar and Parasite are almost tied, I'd argue I prefer Midsommar but Parasite is objectively better.

Midsommar was great, loved how they didn't use darkness and played with the idea of "the scariest things only happen in the dark" since they had all bright imagery.

There's also the whole symbolism/metaphor going on with Dani and how she was mourning. The cult was there to console her and at the end even became her new family.

I agree Joker is over-rated but Joaquin's performance deserves an Oscar. I still see his face after watching that movie a week.

Parasite was great and fucky, John Wick was good but how good can a John Wick film be, Knives Out was cool, Joker was below average and despite loving almost all other Tarantino movies I hated Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
