Hello! I've recently started playing Dungeons and Dragons with my sister and her friends and it is a grand fun time and I'm surprised I didn't do this sooner. I love being a super nerd.
Anyway, I'll update this with funny things that happen during our weekly sessions, feel free to share any funny stories from your D&D games too!!
Disclaimer: I know hardly anything about D&D besides what I have played in the game and done a little research on (like my character).
Edit: I used to play a half orc monk named Emen. She didn't die but the campaign she existed in has.
I will be starting as a DM for my own group in January of 2020. Stay tuned.
I barely remember what happened last Saturday but basically we beat the rest of the plant monsters and continued on our journey to fulfill the side quest of our guide which involves going to some kind of tower to retrieve a mask that is a precious heirloom of her family. On our journeying we ran into a ton of zombies to which Ludvia was like "Hell F*cking NO" and paddled super fast to try and get away, thankfully zombies are dumb. Another night some kind of giant snake was going to try and eat us but Ludvia cast speak with animals and convinced the snake to go after some giant cranes they had seen a day or two before (smort i know). We arrived at the tower and ended there on Saturday.
Ludvia was planning on healing him but forgot the pterofolks were before her on initiative so when he ended up being dropped to his death she kind of forgot another member of the party was unconscious and didn't heal her and then the other party member Ophelia also died. So we lost 2 good ppl.... they made new characters though but i'm going to have to try fitting the concept of grief into Ludvia's character although I feel like they haven't been together enough for her to really have any sort of attachment to them but she isn't supposed to be used to ppl dying in front of her either :/
That is all. We haven't had session in two weeks so hopefully next weekend we will :-(
Anyway we ended up going to an Araracokra monastery nearby since we saved somebody from that monastery back in the tower. We were told of a possible means of getting a gift of flight which would help us get to Mbala since out damn canoe got INCINERATED (long story). The only way we can get the gift of flight is if we find a black orchid in a nearby ancient abandoned city that now stands as a memorial for a lost queen.
Lots of undead around too, Ludvia doesn't like it. Things that aren't living but act as if they are really freak her out. Welp that is all for now!! Tune in next time to see if Ludvia pisses herself bc of all of the undead creatures
to be fair we didn't have many sessions virtually they got cancelled at lot. We last played in August then our DM had a baby so haven't played since - anyway last we left off i believe we got the gift of flight and landed close to mbala and are now looking for the oracle or something to help us on our main quest to figure out the death curse stuff
BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS!! We'll be starting our dnd sessions again, this time IN PERSON safely distanced with masks and sanitizer on hand bc the dm has kiddos but I'm so hype. Virtual sessions are fun and all but it's way better to play in person imo. I hope this helps me get more connected to the campaign we're doing as well as with my own character.
I just started playing it recently with some friends so I'm kinda new to everything. I made my guy a very religious gnome sorcerer who constantly spouts religious quotes... I was fighting my first goblin and I accidentally converted them to my religion xD
Last session I ended up conjuring giant eagles to help us fight these gorilla things and thank god i did bc they had FIVE ATTACKS?! After the fight it was agreed that Azaka, our original guide, would bring the crew we saved back to Port Nyanzaru and we could continue onto Ohmu (it was not uktoa lolll), which is the abandoned ancient city/capital of Chult. We made it there in a few days time and one part member saw a flash of darkness and spectral monsters flying all over the expanse of the city which is spooky af and we have NO IDEA what that means. We went in and everything seems fine so far.
Apparently something we're supposed to do here to help us get some answers is to seek out the 9 trickster gods, which have animal forms. We ended up saving a Grung (a frog basically) but it turns out he isn't a trickster god but we think his father might be!
On our way to meet his father we got attacked by a rogue tabaxi named Bag of Nails who is certifiably insane and he kept calling us Prey even though we beat his . I, Ludvia, almost sicked my 8 conjured wolves on him to tear him apart and show him who the real prey is, but my party convinced me to hold back so we went with him to his house and THE FUCER POISONED US ALL BC NO ONE MADE A PERCEPTION CHECK WHEN HE GAVE US FOOD
